The board structure meets the following requirements :
- Minimum of 5 directors from First Nations
- At least one director who is a lawyer or notary
- 3 positions reserved for political committee members designated by the Chiefs-in-assembly
Directors are elected during FNQLSDI’s annual general meeting. Political committee members are appointed by the Chiefs-in-assembly according to their own processes and ensure the strategic link between FNQLSDI and the political bodies of First Nations.
Our Members
All First Nations in Quebec and Labrador are automatically members of FNQLSDI.
Each First Nation may then, if it wishes, designate a representative by council resolution who may participate in member assemblies and vote.
