Guide to identifying impacts and solutions for resilient housing

Identifying impacts and solutions for resilient housing

In 2020, we collaborated with Écohabitation in the writing of this guide, which aims to facilitate the implementation of climate change adaptation measures for First Nations housing stakeholders.

This guide highlights eight climate risks and identifies adaptation measures to be implemented when renovating existing homes or building new ones. It aims to equip tenants, owners and managers of existing and future homes to deal with the threats of climate change.

There are two words to remember: adaptation and prevention. And there are many ways to achieve this: maximum insulation, an airtight envelope, choice of sustainable materials with low impact on health and the environment, efficient heating and air conditioning, airtightness of the building, regular maintenance of housing components, etc.
