Planning to adapt to climate change : the example of Kanehsatà:ke First Nation

Project carried out in collaboration with the Kanehsatà:ke First Nation

Since 2021, we’ve been working with the Kanehsatà:ke First Nation and its environmental office to develop their first Climate change adaptation plan. Stakeholders and community members came together to discuss the perceived impacts of climate change on them and the land.

These changes can cause, but are not limited to, stress, impact on health, infrastructure, plants and animals, water quality, and so on. This approach has also enabled us to take a stand on the actions to be taken for the future, and to begin the phase of implementing solutions.
