Ongoing remote collaboration with Abitibiwinni First Nation

A joint project with the Abitibiwinni First Nation

From October 25 to 27, 2022, we teamed up with the Abitibiwinni First Nation Council’s Environment and Land office to provide training on the ArcGIS Online platform and its many applications.

We organized moments for deep discussion and sharing expertise, as well as a hands-on activity in Pikogan to try map reading on mobile devices. The Abitibiwinni team then set about implementing a comprehensive approach to using the new geomatics tools in their operations.

Supporting land guardians

We made a second visit in March 2023, this time focusing on the work that Abitibiwinni’s land guardians will be doing with the data in the office and in the field. We helped them build a solid foundation for their work.
