Responding to government consultation requests

Are you constantly approached by several requests for government consultations, sometimes within short deadlines?

We’ve created a template letter to help you respond quickly to requesters. This will leave a written record that the absence of a response is not a waiver of rights and does not mean that the First Nation consents to the activity that is the subject of the consultation.

If you consider that you do not have the time, resources or information to respond adequately, this template letter reminds the government that the consultation does not constitute an appropriate consultation in terms of its constitutional obligations.
