Toward Climate Resilient First Nations Health Systems

As part of the Climate Resilient Health Systems Initiative funded by Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), we worked in collaboration with the FNQLHSSC to engage several First Nations health system networks. The goal was to better understand the gaps and needs related to climate change within the services funded or delivered by ISC, in order to strengthen their resilience.

More specifically, the engagement sessions aimed to address 3 questions:

  1. What are the impacts of climate change on health and well-being?
  2. In what ways is the health system vulnerable to the effects of climate change?
  3. What would make the health system more resilient?
