Shared Specialized Equipment Program

Being equipped for drinking water and wastewater management

Our Circuit Rider Training Program (CRTP) provides First Nations with a shared specialized equipment program for drinking water and wastewater.

Loan of specialized equipment

Some tools needed to operate and maintain infrastructure are expensive and not used on a regular basis. To support communities in the sustainable management of their water systems, the CRTP offers the possibility of borrowing this equipment on request.

This service aims to:

  • facilitate access to specialized technologies

  • support the work of operators and technical teams

  • promote preventive maintenance of networks

How equipment loans work

First Nations communities can request to borrow equipment by contacting our team.

Depending on the equipment and needs expressed, we can:

  • provide technical support

  • provide usage instructions

  • help plan the field intervention

The loan terms, duration, and transport logistics are established at the time of request.

Available equipment

RD7200 Radio detector – Cable and Pipe Locator

This device allows for the precise location of underground pipes, cables, and pressure lines. It is essential for avoiding damage during excavation work and for mapping existing networks.

Microcorr Touch Pro – Acoustic correlator

The acoustic correlator detects leaks in pressurized water pipes by analyzing sound vibrations. It allows leaks to be located without digging, thereby reducing costs and response times.

DX Mic Geophones

Geophones are highly sensitive ground microphones that pick up sounds produced by a leak in a pipe. They complement the acoustic correlator and are particularly useful in smaller networks or for confirming a location.

Flexiprobe P540 – Professional video inspection

This flexible camera inspection equipment allows for visual inspection of the interior of sewage pipes. It helps identify obstructions, cracks, leaks, or deformations without having to dig up the pipes.

Schonstedt – Underground magnetic locator

This device detects buried metal objects such as valves, manholes, service boxes, or location markers. It is particularly useful when network plans are incomplete or cannot be found.
