12 First Nations youth ready to make a difference in their communities
Once again this year, we had the pleasure of bringing together 12 First Nations youth as part of the EcoNation training.
Over the course of these training days, they discovered the role of environmental awareness agent and got hands-on experience practicing workshops they will lead in their communities this summer.
On the agenda: rich learning on issues that directly affect their territories, including waste management, biodiversity protection, and climate change. A field trip to the Saint-Férréol-des-Neiges ecocentre also gave participants an up-close look at these realities through an enriching guided tour.
The training was also an opportunity to hear from inspiring speakers from Wapikoni and Mamu Nikantetau, whose contributions added a valuable human and cultural dimension to the learning experience.
We wish our 12 EcoNation agents all the best as the season gets underway. Their work in communities this summer will be at the heart of our shared mission for a healthier environment and better-protected territories.
