62 First Nations youth trained in natural resources

In 2022, for the2nd year in a row, we participated in Natural Resources Canada’s Science and Technology Internship Program (STIP). We offered training to 62 First Nations youth on topics such as geographic information systems (GIS), First Nations archaeology and the protection of endangered species.

Thanks to this program, we have also financed nine internships in First Nations communities. The young interns worked in climate change adaptation, forestry and land protection. They have also received training to equip them for their new roles.

We would like to congratulate the young people on their work. It’s inspiring to see the next generation getting involved in the field of natural resources.

"I learned a lot during this training! I'd like to have others to learn more! I liked the training and the trainer. Thank you!"
